The funeral rites of Venerable Subhadra Mahāthero, a senior member of the Parbatya Bhikkhu Sangha Bangladesh, a devoted preserver and bearer of the Saddhamma, and the reclusive abbot of Barakalok Swananda Buddhist Monastery, located in Panchhari Upazila of Khagrachhari District, are scheduled to be observed on 15th, 16th, and 17th January 2026.
The auspicious and meritorious ceremony will be graced by the presence of Venerable Shraddhalankar Mahāthero, the Honorable Deputy Sangharaja of PAVISBA, along with Venerable Prajñajyoti Mahāthero, the Honorable President of the Central Executive Committee of PAVISBA, as well as many senior monks and distinguished members of the Bhikkhu Sangha from various districts and upazilas.
It is respectfully noted that Venerable Subhadra Mahāthero was born on 4 June 1932 and received Higher Ordination (Upasampadā) on 29 August 1999. In accordance with the natural law of life, after observing 26 rains retreats (Vassa), he passed away on 6 August 2025.
All are cordially and compassionately invited to participate in this great meritorious funeral ceremony and to pay their final respects to the Venerable Bhante with loving-kindness.
